A butcher, a baker, a...dough-maker?

Since starting preschool six weeks ago, Kyle's become a little sponge, soaking up all the information we can throw at him. He proudly spouts off his numbers, letters, and numerous factoids about plantlife and outerspace. He's resorted to calling me, "Ruth" and thinks he has the inner-workings of the world all figured out.

That's why I knew he'd LOVE his very first fieldtrip to Great Harvest Bread. Sure enough, the moment our tourguide "Art" entered the room, Kyle was captivated. When Art told them to keep their hands to themselves, Kyle's hands went into his pockets and stayed there. When Art started talking about the ingredients in bread (FYI: wheat, water, salt, yeast, and honey), Kyle enthusiastically informed him that Winnie-the-Pooh eats honey, too! And being the boy that he is, he was mezmerized by the industrial-sized mixers and 500-loaf capacity oven.

However, when Art asked which of the kids wanted to be a baker when they grew up, Kyle's "Me!" was noncholant and less than enthusiastic. So imagine my surprise when later that night, as he was lying in bed and half asleep, he turned to his dad and said, "Daddy, when I get bigger, I wanna be a dough-maker."

Now, does he mean bread or money?
